Wahkohtowin is a Cree word meaning kinship. In Cree culture, it’s not only kinship family relationships, but the concept of how deeply interconnected all things are. We believe that the path to healing is not to address one problem, but to consider all things impacting the current situation and to make progress we must evaluate and prioritize the most significant factors first. Our Counsellors will not be limited to a certain number of sessions, you will not be rushed to accomplish your goals. They will work with you to strengthen your wellbeing at a pace that is comfortable for you.
So what’s unique about Counselling with us?
1. You set your healing pace
2. We incorporate traditional healing practices into your sessions, such as massage, acupuncture, music, dance, art, sweats, smudging, and prayer as you feel comfortable.
3. Simultaneously, you will be offered additional support in whatever areas you need it, such as food security, stable housing, parenting strategies, etc.
