At Wahkohtowin Wellness we believe in the power of kinship connection. So when we reach out to provide support, we intend to work with you through your process. We will listen carefully to all aspects impacting your life today and help you prioritize a wellness plan that works for you. Whether that simply means accessing harm reduction supplies or if you are ready to apply for housing and treatment programs, we will support you in reaching your goals.
So, what makes us different?
1. Traditional healing approaches will be incorporated throughout everything we do.
2. Elders/ knowledge keepers will be included in your wellness planning.
3. We will meet you wherever you’re at, grounding our approaches in the quadrants of the medicine wheel. We will advocate and connect to health and mental health professionals through virtual appointments and we will also have a Community Health Nurse, a Harm Reduction Worker, and a Registered Counsellor available to provide face-to-face counselling if you choose. So, if you’re interested in a hot meal, need blankets, water, a shower, hygiene kits or even a nap in a safe space for an hour or two, we will be there to help.
